Tournament Poker Tips: Tournament Poker Tips to Win More Tournaments

In this article I will list and explain important tournament poker tips that will help you take down more tournaments. Tournaments are a good way to win a lot of money fast in poker. The payouts for the final table are pretty high compared to what you bought in for. However tournaments are very high variance and you do need luck to be on your side to take it down. Below are some tournament poker tips.Tip 1: Always know your opponent and how many chips they have left. If someone commits a lot of chips to their hand they will generally have a good hand.Tip 2: Steal the blinds when they go up. Whenever the blinds start to go up in the middle rounds start to steal them. At this point in the tournament they will be worth quite a lot in comparison to the average chip stack.Tip 3: From the middle rounds steal blinds and uncontested pots to build your chip stack. Blinds and uncontested pots will be your main source of chips in tournaments, this also helps to keep variance low.Tip 4: Raise premium hands to get the most value out of them.Tip 5: Play small pots with small hands. You don’t want to go bust with one pair.Tip 6: As the bubble approaches be more aggressive especially to smaller stacks which are clinging on for it to burst. You should be playing to win, not to just make it to the money.Tip 7: Whenever the bubble has burst target the middle stacks as they are the ones which will be likely to try and fold to the final table. The short stacks are willing to take more gambles and the big stacks will call anything.Tip 8: Know which tournament you are playing. There are different kinds of tournaments such as rebuys and add ons.Tip 9: Whenever you reach the final table hand values go up as the number of people left get lower.Tip 10: In general you want to start out tight and become more and more aggressive as the tournament continues.Tip 11: Spend your winnings! Whenever you finally win a tournament enjoy the winnings to help keep you motivated.I hope that you enjoyed my article on tournament poker tips and that you will find them useful. A Christian Perspective on the “Race Card” Game – Part 2

As a Christian believer, or as any other decent human being, your role as a logical, intelligent individual is to distinguish between when there is a true allegation of racism from when someone is playing the race card. You are not to allow anyone to manipulate you with his or her own agenda. Take for example, a political scenario, where one politician in desperate need of votes starts playing the race card by bringing up divisive racial issues, rather than presenting a concrete platform and work plan to the people. Many people fall prey to such politicians who target the racial sentiments of individuals. Such people end up voting on racial lines rather than focusing on what the politician really has to offer. Inevitably, they get disappointed because the politician fails to deliver, because they really had nothing more than political rhetoric to offer. On the other hand, be careful with individuals who are quick to accuse others of playing the race card. Many of such individuals may have deep-seated racial prejudice and discriminatory beliefs, which they have mastered the act of obscuring. On the surface, they present themselves to be “non-racist,” while practicing racism in the subtlest manner. In the meantime, while they accuse others of being racist or playing the race card, they are no better themselves.Still, it is easier for you as an individual to fall prey to the game of playing the race card when you have unresolved issues within you about racism. If you have fear of other races, especially fear that is motivated by anxiety over perceived loss of economic control or dominance, your fear could dominate your mind and make you a quick target to be easily manipulated by those who play the race card. If you have been wounded in your soul by one or more experiences of racism and the “wound” is still a “open sore”, you could be more receptive to someone playing the race card on one issue or another. This is why you must treat your experiences of racism like any other life’s negative experiences. Daily, you must continue to positively evolve from any experience with racism to become a better human being who simply refuses to be defeated by racism. Someone who refuses to use or manipulate racism in any way for individual benefit. Below are steps that I suggest that you learn to take daily in order to gain your own individual victory over racism, and to avoid playing the race card game.· Regardless of your religion or creed, you need to accept the universal truth that you are not superior or inferior to anyone. Your humanity as an individual is not superior or inferior to that of another human being.· Daily, you must dust yourself of the “debris” of racism to prevent any negative lingering effects of it. You must cleanse your thoughts and emotions of all of the “wreckage” and “remnants” from your unpleasant experiences with racism.· Daily, you need to cleanse your mind of any perceived fear of individuals of other races taking over your life or that of your community or country. Fear and anxiety breeds all manner of destructive negative thinking and emotions that sets you up to become receptive to racial prejudice and discrimination, or playing the race card game.· You need to forgive your racist offenders, so that their ignorant, racist actions against you don’t succeed in making you bitter about life and turning you into a living, wounded soul. God has asked us to forgive those who offend us, so that we too may be forgiven by those we offend and by God Himself. This is a simple Biblical instruction that is by no means simple to practice. Yet, it is necessary for the well being of our soul, that is our mind, thoughts heart, emotions and will. It is necessary for individuals within a family, community, state, country or the world as a whole, to continue to live and co-exist in reasonable harmony.· You must continue to act with integrity before God, regardless of your experiences with racism. So, you do not have the luxury to be a part of racism, or ethnicity-based politics, or play the race card in any shape or manner.· You have to make the conscious effort to remember that God has given all of humanity the mandate not to discriminate against anyone based on race, ethnicity or nationality, or any other reason.
